Birger Sandzén was an American visual artist who was born in 1871. He has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the David Cook Galleries and at the Debra Force Fine Art, Inc. Many works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Lake at Sunset, Colorado' sold at Heritage Auction Galleries, Dallas 'American Art Signature Auction' in 2016 for $670,000. There have been many articles about Birger Sandzén, including 'Four original oil paintings by Birger Sandzen (1871-1946) will headline Woody Auction's Feb. 24 grand opening event' written for ARTFIXdaily in 2018. The artist died in 1954.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dec. 13, 2017 - PRLog -- An exceedingly rare, museum-quality Dorflinger cranberry cut to clear glass ewer, 17 inches tall, soared to $75,000 at a sale featuring two major collections of American Brilliant Cut Glass, held November 18th by Woody Auction, online and at the Hilton Kansas City Airport. It was the final major cut glass auction of the year for Woody Auction, which is based in Douglass, Kansas.

DOUGLASS, Kan. – Part 2 of the Fred and the late Maxine Zumthurn collection out of California – which features figural napkin rings and quality pickle castors but also includes art glass pieces, Wave Crest, Mount Washington, R. S. Prussia and Victorian antiques – will be held Saturday, December 2nd, by Woody Auction, online and in the Woody Auction gallery, at 120 Third Street in Douglass, Kansas.

 

Two major collections of American Brilliant Cut Glass – from Tom Grabb of Indiana and Bill Chandler of Tennessee, whose collections include many rare patterns such as Pueblo, Waldorf, Bellevue, Crystal City, Atom, Rex and others – will co-headline a cut glass auction planned for Saturday, November 18, 2017, by Woody Auction, at the Hilton Kansas City Airport in Kansas City.
