Our second cut glass auction of 2026 promises to be an exceptional event. This single-consignor collection, thoughtfully assembled and now offered at auction to the highest bidder, presents a unique opportunity for collectors—especially those attending in person, as no sales tax will be charged.
The collection comes from Harold “Bill” Sandars, a familiar face at our auctions over the years, who curated an impressive and diverse grouping of fine cut glass. Highlights include punch bowls, whiskey sets, lamps, ice cream sets, tantalus sets, decanters, jugs, bowls, trays, and more. His discerning eye is evident in the quality of makers represented, including Hawkes, Libbey, Meriden, Ohio, and Dorflinger, along with sought-after patterns such as Aztec, Imperial, Alhambra, Queens, and Croesus.

A prelude to this event will be an online-only auction on May 2, 2026, featuring additional selections from this collection. For your convenience, successful bidders in that sale may request to have their purchases held for pickup at the May 16 auction.
Previews: Friday, May 15, 2026 –1pm to 5pm and Saturday, May 16, 2026 – 8am to 9:30am
Sales Tax: This auction is a single collection, so no sales tax will be collected from buyers present at the sale. Sales tax is charged as applicable for all other bidders.
Condition: Woody Auction has attempted to call any flaws that can affect the value of an item, but final determination is left to the buyer. Common nicks, scratches, and factory flaws have not been called.

Absentee Bids: Accepted with a written statement indicating the amount of your bid. DEADLINE: Noon, Thursday, May 14, 2026. All Absentee Bids will be charged a Buyer’s Premium (BP) of 15% of selling price plus shipping (the BP is 10% when paying by cash or check). Your Absentee Bid will be entered just as if you are present and bidding yourself. Please supply: Full Name, Address, Phone Number, Auction Date, Lot Number, Short Description and Bid Amount. Phone Bidding: Available for lots with a low estimate of $500 or greater (low estimates are found on LiveAuctioneers). You will receive a phone call to confirm receipt of your phone bids. The BP for phone bidding is the same as absentee bids.
